Twenty year old guitarist and singer Janzen Deans from Utah is a true artist in all sense of the title. He gained a great appreciation and passion for music at a young age by learning guitar at age nine and later participating in choir in school. He enjoys writing lyrics and tunes drawn from all of life’s ups and downs. His music, inspired by his faith as well as a strong love for family and friends, is down to earth and heartfelt. He states, “… to express true feelings through music and perform for others is an irreplaceable rush that I always want to be able to have.”
The Mood Rocks
The Mood started thirteen years ago when two friends came together to try and write a song. What started as a hobby shared by two friends has turned into a passion shared by both. To date, the band has just completed its fifth album, Locked Out. Through the years, The Mood has combined the simple sounds of folk with the rich sounds of pop. They like to use introspective lyrics to tell stories as well as examine the human condition. The Mood has been blessed to work with great singers, songwriters, and musicians that have generously shared there talents. In their previous album, Seven Days, the band recorded with Jon Carrolof the Starland Vocal Band and John Jennings who produced Mary Chapin Carpenters Grammy winning albums. They have had multiple songs signed with publishers. The Mood continues to grow while working with singer/songwriter Matt Malone and singer/songwriter/producer (The Stay Level) Chip Johnson.
High Dive Heart
High Dive Heart consists of multi-platinum songwriter and solo artist Jason Reeves and singer-songwriter Nelly Joy. Jason explains that High Dive Heart is all about love. “You have to be unafraid to dive into love no matter how high the cliff is. Chances are you’ll land where you’re meant to be.”
The first single of their EP HDH VS. MTR (Part One) is Misfit, a song written in partnership with the Bully Project. Nelly Joy explains, “Bullying is an immense problem in our society and the main reason people are bullied is because they don’t fit in, because they’re misfits. We want to change the mindset and empower people to believe that being different is beautiful. We want people to embrace everything about themselves that is unique and stand up for their individuality. We also want to help the countless victims that are often times suffering alone. We all need a support system and team to help us through dark times. The Bully Project has been doing incredible work on this path and we want to join them by helping in any way we can.”
Their song Dirty Money concerns the lack of transparency within our government concerning the source and final destination of financial allocations. The song attests that love is the only true currency among mankind and that wealth represented by paper in and of itself has no value.

Born in Scotland but based in London, Louise’s music career was originally routed in jazz. She performed around the globe as a professional jazz singer for about ten years, with her original pieces featured on BBC jazz radio shows. But having always had a deep passion for so many genres of music, last year she took a step back from jazz and performing to concentrate solely on writing, both on her own and collaborating with other writers. Her ever growing catalogue of songs now consists of many genres.
Her influences are diverse and numerous, having grown up in a house of music lovers, but her production style this last year has definitely leaned more towards her love of electronic music and 80s artists such as Prince and Eurythmics. You can hear the odd jazz influence sneaking into her melody lines now and again though! A few major life events along the way have also influenced her lyric writing, with a lot of them drawing on her own experiences or the experiences of those closest to her.
Everything on her soundcloud page is written, produced and sung by Louise, including one or two collaborations, and she’s always open to collaborating with other songwriters and artists. She will be releasing some material next year under the pseudonym MAR (soundcloud.com/musicbymar). Watch this space!
Frank Lerant has been playing the piano since he could reach it. He says, “I was a terrible student because all I wanted to do was compose my own pieces and songs. Fast forward 100 years….I feel I have finally found the best balance of writing, playing, and recording my original music. I have learned that patience, modesty, and listening to others’ opinions has centered me as an artist.”
